Safety Events & Family Fire Muster

Community Safety Events

In addition to hosting our Family Fire Muster, West Metro Fire Rescue attends safety events hosted by other agencies.  Look for us at the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival Parade, International Walk to School Day events, the City of Lakewood's Senior Resource Fairs and more.

We typically send a fire engine for one hour "in service" to approved events located in our district.  Please note that crews still need to respond to any emergency calls that come in during their scheduled visit.  A designated parking space is required so the engine can leave immediately if a call comes in.  Because our crews remain "in service" during events, they cannot be scheduled to staff event activities or judge contests.  Thanks for understanding that while we love to get out in the community, emergency response is our first priority.

NOTE:  Effective March 10, 2020 - West Metro Fire Rescue is suspending participation in all activities outside of emergency response due to COVID-19.  Once that order is lifted, the link to request a fire engine at your event will be restored.   We are not accepting requests at this time.  Thank you for understanding our need to keep our firefighter and citizens safe.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Family Fire Muster

Notice: The 2021 Family Fire Muster has been cancelled.

Our mission is keeping our community safe. And that’s why we’ve made the tough decision to postpone this year’s West Metro Family Fire Muster. It’s up to all of us to do what we can to flatten the coronavirus curve, and with cases on the rise due to the Delta variant, we decided the best course of action was to cancel this year and look forward to 2022.

We know many of you were excited about attending the Muster, just as our firefighters and staff were excited to welcome you to the annual event. We’ve been in the planning stages now for several weeks.

The pandemic has changed everyone’s lives and we’ve had to make sacrifices over the past year and a half. All of us want to get back to normal and we look forward to a full return of all activities next year.

Thanks to our community for the support you’ve shown us during these trying times. See you at the Muster in 2022!

Prepare. Prevent. Prosper.
