Communications/Dispatch

About the division
West Metro Fire Rescue's Communications and Dispatch Center is the lifeblood of our agency. It's our first contact with the residents who call us for help. It's how we get our firefighters and paramedics to you as soon as possible, utilizing a sophisticated GPS system to determine the closest unit to respond to the emergency.

Calm voice
Our dispatchers are highly trained and often provide step by step instructions for lifesaving techniques. They are the calm voices on the other end of the line that can sometimes make the difference between life and death.

Help us help you
You can help us help you when there's an emergency, by signing up for CodeRED (reverse 911) and Smart911.
CodeRED gives you up to the minute information about what's going on in your neighborhood. Smart911 allows you to protect your family by providing key information for our dispatchers BEFORE you have emergency.

When to call 911
Be the first to know
You never know when there may be an emergency. In Colorado, our weather can spark wildfires, floods, tornadoes, blizzards and dangerous thunderstorms.

CodeRED is a reverse 911 program that allows first responder agencies, like West Metro, to let you know what's coming and if you need to be ready to evacuate.
